There are three categories to MAP:
CATEGORY I
This applies to the following: (a) Honorably discharged US military veterans (must produce DD-214), (b) Active duty or retired US military, (c) Member of National Guard or Reserves currently serving, (d) Honorably discharged US military veterans who were deployed in War Zone (must produce DD-214 for verification).
1.$120 for the combination NYS Eight Hour Pre Assignment Course and NYS Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course if taken within fourteen (14) days of completing the Pre-Assignment Course with us.
2. NO CHARGE for job counseling and preferred ongoing job placement assistance.
3. NO CHARGE for assistance with security license application process.
4. Special consideration for application to our Protective Agent/Bodyguard and Special Security Forces Tactical Training Programs (discounted training rates if qualified and accepted).

SPECIAL CATEGORIES FOR SERVICE CONNECTED DISABLED US MILITARY VETERANS WHO HAVE A DOCUMENTED SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY AND FOR ALL PURPLE HEART MEDAL RECIPIENTS**
CATEGORY II (Service Connected Disabled Veterans and spouse/child survivors of military member lost in combat).
This applies to the following: (a) Service connected disabled US military veteran, (b) spouse or child survivor of military member lost in action.
This training program, consistent with our community-based commitment and in sincere gratitude for their service, is absolutely FREE for eligible US military veterans with approved/documented service connected disabilities and provides the following benefits:
For Service Connected Disabled Veterans with VA ID Card indicating "Service Connected" or Child/Spouse survivor of US military member lost in combat with certification:
1. NO CHARGE (full tuition waiver) for the NYS Eight Hour Pre Assignment Course. School may also waive tuition fee for the NYS Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course on a space available basis.
2. NO CHARGE for job and educational counseling and preferred ongoing job placement assistance.
3. NO CHARGE for assistance with security license application process.
4. Special consideration for application to our Protective Agent/Bodyguard and Special Security Forces Tactical Training Programs (discounted training rates if qualified and accepted).
Category II Eligibility Note: Applications for this category will be taken from the following:
Honorably discharged disabled US military veterans who have a documented service-connected disability (must show proper Veterans Administration [VA] proof of service-connected disability). Note: A VA hospital card is not acceptable proof of disability unless it is marked "service connected". Award letters, etc. are also not acceptable for this category as we cannot verify them. Child/Spouse survivor of US military member lost in combat must produce certain documents of proof (please call for more information if you fall under this category).
CATEGORY III (Purple Heart Medal Recipients)
For Purple Heart Medal Recipients ONLY:
1. NO CHARGE for the following NYS Security Guard Courses (unarmed):
(a) NYS Pre-Assignment Course for Security Guards.
(b) NYS Sixteen Hour On-the-Job Training Course for Security Guards.
(c) NYS Eight Hour Annual In-Service Training Course for Security Guards (this differs and does not apply the above "service connected" category).
2. NO CHARGE for job counseling and preferred ongoing job placement assistance.
3. NO CHARGE for assistance with security license application process.
4. Special consideration for application to our Protective Agent/Bodyguard and Special Security Forces Tactical Training Programs (discounted training rates if qualified and accepted).
Category III Eligibility Note: Applications for this category will be taken from the following:
Honorably discharged or Active Duty US military personnel with a DD-214 indicating the Purple Heart Medal (PHM) award or the PHM award certificate.
